| Description: “Happy Chinese New Year” is the greeting from the City of Alhambra, which offers a colorful pagoda which is adorned with festive lanterns and ornaments and decorated in the holiday’s traditional red and gold hues. Feb. 7, 2008 will begin the 15-day celebration of the Chinese New Year which is symbolized as the Year of the Rat. Fireworks further accent the float, and the American Chinese Culture Association entertains parade viewers by performing a dragon dance alongside the float. |
